Independence Day is coming up, which means there will be many parades, activities and fireworks. Here is a list of events in Central Ohio, ranging from July 3 to July 6. I hope you can find something that you can attend and enjoy!
Columbus: Red, White and Boom 2013, 12pm to 11pm A day of family fun concluded with an amazing firework show. Click here for more information.
Granville: Festivities start on July 3rd through 6th. Games and entertainment (by Midway) opens July 3rd, parade is July 4th. There will be fireworks and live music on <b>July 5th at 8pm </b>at Wildwood Park, with additional activities and contests through <b>July 6th.</b> Click here for more information.
Hilliard: Get Your Ride On in Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park with Durant Enterprises Inc. The rides, games and food begin on July 3 at 5 p.m. Click here for more information.
Johnstown: Fireworks will be set off at Johnstown-Monroe High School at dusk. (rain date is July 5th) Click here for more information.
Newark: Fireworks at 10pm at Martha Grace Reese Amphitheater (1179 University Dr.)
Reynoldsburg: Parade at 10am along East Main St. Family fun activities start at 6pm (park opens at 5:30pm) at Civic Park (6800 Daughtery Dr.) and will include bounce houses, carnival games, food and fun. Fireworks are at 9:45pm. Click here for more information.
Whitehall: Fireworks start at 9:55pm at John Bishop Park (July 3rd). On July 4th, there will be a parade at 10am starting at corner of East Broad St and Yearling Rd. and going to John Bishop Park.
Bexley: The John Barr Bexley 4th of July 5K starts at Jeffrey Mansion at 8am. The parade starts at Maryland Elementary at 9:30am. The community celebration & activities start at 6pm. The fireworks start at 10pm. Pool fun: July 3rd, there is an underwater egg hunt, Big & Little Splash Out and Slide King Races. On July 4th, show your patriotic colors to get ½ off a red, white and blue snow cone at the concession stand. Admission for all ages will only be $5 for July 3rd or 4th.
Clintonville: Starts with a 5K Run/walk at Whetstone High School at 8:30am, Community breakfast opens at 7:30am, pet show at 9am, NCIL All-Star Games at 10am, Children’s July 4th Bike Decorating Contest (sign in at 10am), fishing derby 11-3pm, musical performances from 5pm until 10pm. Delaware: Parade starts at 3pm at the county fairgrounds liberty street gate, through downtown. At 7:30pm, the Central Ohio Symphony will perform at Phillips Glen at Ohio Wesleyan, lawn seating is free (front stage seating limited and $5). At 10pm the fireworks start, public viewing areas along Henry St. and OWU practice fields. Click here for more information.

Gahanna: The Freedom Festival and Fireworks have unfortunately been cancelled, but there are many other communities with festivities to visit.
Grove City: Blast at Beulah, with live entertainment and children’s activities starting at 5:30pm. Fireworks at approximately 10pm. Walk-in admission is free, but there is a $5 fee to park in the Beulah parking lot. Click here for more information.
Groveport: 4th of July Celebration, 11am to 10:45pm. Festival features continuous entertainment from the Main Street Parade at 11am. Fireworks at dusk.
Hilliard: Parade starts at 10am. Activities at Rogers Municipal Park begin at 6pm. Rides actually kick off on July 3rd (see above). Click here for more information.
London: Ohio Patriotic Celebration with family events from 5:30-9pm, until the fireworks. Click here for more information.
New Albany: Parade begins at 10am starting at the New Albany Middle School. The evening festivities commence at 5pm, where you can bring a picnic or buy some food from local vendors, listen to Big Daddy Blue, and then take part in a community photo at 6:30pm. After that, enjoy the Street Players band from 7-10pm, and fireworks start at approximately 10pm. Click here for more information.
Pickerington: Celebration at Victory Park starting at 4pm. The parade is at 6pm, then at 7:30pm the opening ceremonies start and the Reganonmics are on the main stage from 8-11pm. Fireworks are at 10pm. Click here for more information.
Plain City: 4th of July parade will begin at 2pm and will last approximately an hour. Click here for more information.
Sunbury: Flea Market on the square (7am – 5pm). Parade starts at 10am and the KidZone on the Square is 11am – 3pm. The Sizzle in July Fireworks festivities start at 6:30pm at the High School with live entertainment, bounce houses and concessions. Fireworks at 10pm.
Upper Arlington: Parade at 9am and Party in the Park begins at 5pm with live music and a great firework finale at 10pm. Click here for more information.
Westerville: 5K Rotary Run & Walk starts at 8am. Children’s Fun Run is at 9am. The parade starts at 1pm in uptown, food will be collected along the parade route for WARM. Fireworks art at 10pm from Alum Creek Park South – with a concert at the Sport Complex starting at 9pm. Click here for more information.
Worthington: Family Picnic & Fireworks. Starting at 4pm, enjoy a family picnic on the lawn of Thomas Worthington High School (bring chairs & blankets). There will also be live entertainment, Supergames and more. Fireworks start at 10pm. Click here for more information.
